Plant Queendom

One cold Winter morning in Berlin, Lee Lee emerges from a cocoon in her art studio. Before any coffee, a geenish-blue plant and burgundy plush blanket “speaks” to her.

Soon, the three are enmeshed. Body, plant and blanket morphing through iterations, a shrouded, swishing body emerges, holding a plant. Out of a rather groggy, innocent morning practice, Lee Lee finds herself asking, What’s in a blanket? What’s in a plant? What’s in a body?

In post-production, music was added to connect the everyday with regal aspects of honor and honoring, as well as celebrating. A disco ball, bold color and lighting changes support worlds within the initial world. Inspiration from being in Morocco while editing is reflected in some choices. 5:51
