"Many a trip continues long after movement in time and space have ceased." ~ John Steinbeck

I spent time where John Steinbeck wrote novels in the Monterey Bay Area of CA and upon finishing this video I thought of him, as well as the CCC men who did stone work in the surrounding Big Bend Parks following the depression.

I felt a connection with my farmer ancestors, too. Both Steinbeck and my Father have written beautiful prose about farming.

The magic of hands really comes alive in this video whether connecting us through touch, healing, building structures, growing food, making art or expressing familiarity or authenticity in gestures. It’s one of the most moving videos I’ve made, at the start of a huge undertaking, building a dance studio.

"A kind of light spread out from her. And everything changed color. And the world opened out. And a day was good to awaken to. And there were no limits to anything. And the people of the world were good and handsome. And I was not afraid any more." ~ John Steinbeck
